European commercial vehicle registrations: -8.9% in November, +2.2% in eleven months

Decreasing for the third consecutive month, demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU fell by 8.9% in November, totaling 198,701 units sold across Europe. Looking at the main national markets, Italy posted the worst performance (-11.7%, with 18,432 registrations, nearly 2.5 thousand less than in November 2018), followed by UK (-10.7%), France (-7.1%), Germany (-6.1%) and Spain (-2.5%).

All segments contracted, in particular Heavy Trucks and Trucks (respectively -17.6% and -15.3%), driven by the bad results of all major markets with the exception of Spain. LCV fell by 7.9%, and Bus and Coach segment went down by 3.4%.

From January to October commercial vehicle registrations kept growing (+2.2%), with 2,336,446 units, thanks to the positive results of the earlier months. Eleven months into the year, all biggest markets expanded: Germany +6.7%, France +4.0%, Italy +2.6% (with 193,524 vehicles registered, about 4.9 thousand over the same period last year), UK +2.6%, Spain +1.1%.
