Since the 1960s Wonder has been supporting the group Amici dei lebbrosi (Friends of Lepers), which operates in several African countries and has helped to build a leprosarium and a village in Costa d’Avorio where almost 2,000 people now live.
With other donations, a second leprosarium has been built in Burkina Faso and a children's home in Etiopia. Among other projects, Wonder has helped to set up Jambo Africa, a non-profit organisation that supports the local economy.
