European commercial vehicle market increased by 2.7% in November, with 217,473 units sold, mostly supported by the van segment. UK posted the highest upturn (+6.8%), followed by Germany (+6.6%) and France (+3.0%), while registrations went down in Spain (-5.9%) and Italy (-7.2%, with 20,861 units, about 1,600 less than in November 2017).
Demand for light commercial vehicles grew by 3.2% in November, thanks to the good results of UK and Germany. Bus and coach segment increased by 0.5% while trucks remained stable (+0.2%) and heavy trucks declined slightly (-0.5%).
From January to November 2018 commercial vehicle registrations in the EU grew by 3.8%, with nearly 2.3 million units (2,286,107). Looking at the main national markets, Spain posted the best performance (+6.5%), followed by Germany (+5.5%) and France (+5.2%), while demand contracted in UK (-1.3%) and Italy (-2.8%, with 189,103 registrations, 5.5 thousand less compared to the same period last year).
