Following the positive trend shown last year, European commercial vehicle market kept growing in the first month of 2017, reaching +8.2% over January 2016 and totaling 173,614 units sold. Growth was led by LCV segment and supported by all main national markets. Spain posted the best performance (+23.8%), followed with double digit numbers by Italy (+11.4%, with 14,764, about 1.5 thousand over the same month last year) and France (+10.3%). Demand increased also in Germany and UK, though at a slower pace (respectively +2.6% and +2.4%).
New light commercial vehicle market expanded by 9.3% in January, strongly pushed by Spain, while truck and heavy truck segments both grew with lowest numbers (+3.6% and +3.9%). Bus and coach registrations also posted modest growth (+2.9%), as a consequence of the bad results recorded by France and Spain.
