Passenger car market in the EU: -4.6% in January 2019

2019 opened with a slowdown for passenger car registrations in the EU (-4.6%), totaling 1,195,665 units and marking nonetheless the second-highest result in volume terms, considering the month of January, since 2009.

Most European countries posted negative numbers, included the biggest national markets. Spain recorded the worse performance (-8.0%), followed by Italy (-7.5%, with 164,864 cars registered, about 13.5 thousand less compared with January 2018), UK (-1.6%), Germany (-1.4%) and France (-1.1%).
