Passenger car registrations in the EU: +4.3% in February, +5.8% in the first two months

Following the good start recorded at the beginning of the new year, European car market kept growing in February (+4.3%), totaling 1,125,397 units and marking the highest February result in ten years. Spain posted the best result (+13.0%), followed by Germany (+7.4%) and France (+4.3%), while registrations contracted in Italy (-1.4%, with 181,734 cars sold, 2.6 thousand less compared to 2017) and UK (-2.8%, declining for the 11th month in a row.

In the first two months of 2018 passenger car registrations in the EU increased by 5.8%, totaling 2,378,965 units sold. Except for the UK (-5.1%), all major national markets posted growth: Spain (+16.4%), Germany (+9.5%), France (+3.4%), Italy (+1.0%, with 359,907 registrations, about 3.5 thousand over the same period last year).
