Passenger car registrations in the Eu: -8.0% in November, +0.8% in eleven months

In November 2018, European passenger car market fell by 8.0% with 1,121,162 registrations, marking the third consecutive month of contraction after the introduction of the new WLTP test last August. All main national markets posted negative results: Spain recorded the worse performance (-12.6%), followed by Germany (-9.9%), Italy (-6.3%, with 146,991 units, about 10 thousand less compared to November 2017), France (-4.7%) and UK (-3.0%).

In eleven months demand for new passenger cars in the EU grew by 0.8%, with over 14 million units sold (14,160,278). Among the major markets, Spain led the growth with +8.0% followed by France (+4.7%). From January to November, Germany remained stable (+0.4%), while registrations fell in Italy (-3.5%, with 1,785,722 cars, nearly 64 thousand less compared to the same period last year) and UK (-6.9%).
