Passenger car registrations in the EU: -15.4% in June, -14.0% in six months

European passenger car market recorded another negative month in June (-15.4%) with 886,510 vehicles registered overall.

All four biggest markets contracted: Germany -18.1%; Italy -15.0% (with 127,209 registrations, about 22.4 thousand less than in June 2021); France -14.2%; Spain -7.8%.

In the first half of the year, demand for new passenger cars in the EU declined by 14.0%, totaling 4,608,205 units all across Europe. From January to June, all main national markets posted double digit drops: Italy -22.7% (with 684,228 cars registered, nearly 201 thousand less compared to the same period last year); France -16.3%; Germany -11.0%; Spain -10.7%.
