In 2023, van registrations in the EU increased by 14.6%, totaling 1,467,001 registrations thanks to the good performance of the four biggest markets: Italy +22.7% (with 195,618 units, about 36 thousand more compared to the previous year); Spain +22.0%; Germany +12.1%; France +8.9%.
New truck sales grew as well, marking +16.3% (with 346,986 registrations), supported by the strong results of Germany (+24.4%), Spain (+22.3%), Italy (+11.4% with 28,628 vehicles sold, nearly a thousand over 2022) and France (+11.3%).
Bus segment also posted a remarkable +19.4%, with 31,593 units overall, pushed by the extraordinary expansion of Italy and Spain (both marking +56.2%), followed at long distance by France (+12.5%) and Germany (+4.1%).
Looking at the different power sources, diesel continued to represent the first choice in all three segments: 82.6% vans; 95.7% trucks; 62.3% buses.
