Commercial vehicle registrations in EU: -27.1% in April, -20.3% in four months

European commercial vehicle market fell by 27.1% in April, marking the tenth negative month in a row and totaling 125,034 units.

All four biggest national markets posted double digit losses: Spain -36.0%; Germany -30.5%; France -28.6%; Italy -17.5% (with 15,946 registrations, nearly 3.4 thousand less compared to April 2021).

Looking at the different segments, LCV contracted by 30.2%, followed by Trucks and Heavy Trucks (respectively -12.6% and -10.8%), while Bus & Coach only lost 1.2%.

Four months into the year, demand for new commercial vehicles in Europe went down by 20.3%, totaling 526,408 units overall. Among the main markets, Spain recorded the worst performance (-31.8%), followed by France (-23.6%) and Germany (-16.5%), while Italy limited the losses (-7.7%, with 67,183 registrations, about 5.6 thousand less compared to the first four months last year).
