Commercial vehicle registrations in the EU: -1.2% in October, -22.2% in ten months

After the growth recorded in September, demand for new commercial vehicles in Europe posted a slight decline (-1.2%), totaling 172,743 units overall in October. Looking at the biggest markets, Germany grew by 9.4%, followed by Italy (+7.4%, with 20,887 registrations, about 1.4 thousand more than one year ago), while France and Spain slowed down (respectively -4.5% and -8.3%).

With the exception of LCV (+0.7%), all segments fell significantly: Trucks -9.5%; Heavy Trucks -9.8%; Buses & Coaches -12.6%.

From January to October, commercial vehicle registrations declined by 22.2%, with 1,379,054 units all across Europe. Ten months into the year, all main national markets posted double digit contractions: Spain -30.4%; France -19.8%; Germany -18.4% and Italy -18.4% (with 142,681 registrations, about 32 thousand less compared to the same period last year).
