Commercial vehicle registrations in the EU: +11.5% in January 2020

Demand for new commercial vehicles in Europe dropped by 11.5% in January, with 153,114 units sold overall, nearly 20 thousand less compared to one year ago.

All main national markets posted negative numbers: Spain recorded the worst performance (-19.3%), followed by France (-9.1%), Germany (-7.6%) and Italy (-2.9%, with 15,749 registrations, almost 500 less than in January 2019).

In the last month, only Bus and Coach segment increased (+4.9%), while all others declined significantly. Heavy Trucks and Trucks kept contracting (respectively with -21.7% and -19.2%) and LCV went down by 10.2% after the encouraging growth posted in December 2019.
