Commercial vehicle registrations in the EU: +13.3% in June, +13.5% in the first semester

In June 2016 commercial vehicles market expanded by 13.3%, growing for the 18th consecutive month and totaling 223,519 registrations in the EU. Good news from all main national markets, especially Italy (+29.9%, with 16,590 units sold, 3.8 thousand more compared to June 2015), followed in double digit figures by Spain (+14.5%), Germany (+11.3%) and France (+11.1%), while UK kept growing at a slower rate (+2.8%).

In the last 30 days, demand for new light commercial vehicles increased by 14.2%, marking the 34th consecutive month of growth, thanks to the strong contribution of Italy (+27.6%), Spain (+17.3%), Germany (+12.9%) and France (+11.3). Heavy trucks and trucks segments both posted good results (+13.0% and +10.3%), thanks again to the outstanding performance of Italian market, while buses and coaches registrations fell by 4.8%, on account of the negative result of France (-30.2%).

The first semester of 2016 closed with 968,791 new commercial vehicles registered in the EU (+13.5%). From January to June all major markets posted growth: Italy (+30.8%, with 94,727 units, 22.3 thousand over the same period last year), Spain (+14.0%), France (+12.7%), Germany (+10.4%), UK (+3.6%).
