Demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU: +13.2% in November, +11.7% in eleven months

Following the negative result registered last month, commercial vehicle market expanded by 13.2% in November, totaling 203,799 units sold in the EU. All main national markets contributed actively to the overall outcome through all segments. Italy posted once again the best performance (+70.2%, with 24,926 vehicles registered, over 10 thousand more compared to November 2015), followed by France (+15,0%), Spain (+14.2%), UK (+3.7%) and Germany (+1.8%).

Light commercial vehicle registrations grew by a significant 13.5% after the deceleration seen in October. Truck and heavy truck segments increased (respectively +12.8% and +12.1%) and even bus and coach segment posted a slight upturn after five months of consecutive decline (+0.4%).

Over eleven months in 2016 demand for new commercial vehicles in the EU grew by 11.7%, with over 2.1 million units registered (2,112,128). From January to November Italy led the growth (+44.2%, with 193,754, nearly 60 thousand over the same period last year), followed by Spain (+11.1%), France (+8.9%), Germany (+7.4%) and UK (+2.2%).
