EU passenger car market: +16.6% in December, +9.3% in 2015

With 1,109,927 units sold in December 2015, passenger car registrations in the EU marked the 28th consecutive month of growth with the highest rate since the beginning of the positive trend nearly two and a half years ago (+16.6%). All major national markets showed significant results: double digit growth for Spain (+20.7%), Italy (+18.7%, with 109,395 registrations, 17 thousand more than in December 2014) and France (+12.5%), followed by UK (+8.4%) and Germany (+7.7%).

In 2015 European car market expanded by 9.3% (13,713,526 registrations), surpassing by 1,162,322 units 2014 volumes and confirming the positive trend of the last few years. All main markets posted growth, especially Spain (+20.9%) and Italy (+15.8%, 214 thousand units more compared to 2014), followed by France (+6.8%), UK (+6.3%) and Germany (+5.6%).
