After the negative result recorded last March, demand for new passenger cars increased by 13.7% in April, with 913,995 units sold overall.
All major markets performed well: Spain +23.1%; Germany +19.8%; France +10.9%; Italy +7.7% (with 135,318 registrations, about 9.6 thousand more compared to April 2023).
Four months into the year, passenger car registrations in EU grew by 6.6%, totaling nearly 3.7 million units all across the region, supported by all main national markets: Germany and Spain +7.8%; France +7.0%; Italy +6.1% (with 586,294 units sold, nearly 34 thousand over the same period last year).
Considering the power source, battery-electric maintained 12% of the market, hybrid-electric 29.1%, diesel 12.9% and petrol 36%.
