European car market: +5.9% in November, +4.1% in eleven months

Demand for new passenger cars in the EU kept growing in November (+5.9%), totaling 1,216,702 units overall. Among the 5 major markets, Spain performed the best again (+12.4%), followed by France (+10.3%), Germany (+9.4%) and Italy (+6.8%, with 156,332 registrations, about 10 thousand more compared to November 2016). On the contrary, British market posted negative numbers for the eight consecutive month, falling by 11.2%.

From January to November passenger car registrations increased by 4.1%, totaling more than 14 million units sold all across the EU. Looking at the main national markets, Italy led the growth (+8.7%, with 1,848,919 registrations, nearly 150 thousand over the same period last year), followed by Spain (+7.8%), France (+5.3%) and Germany (+3.0%), while UK contracted by 5.0% in eleven months.
