European commercial vehicle market: -14.7% in November, +11.5% in eleven months

Demand for new commercial vehicles in Europe fell by 14.7% in November, totaling 142,480 units, about 24.5 thousand less compared to one year ago.

Looking at the biggest markets, Spain posted the lowest result (-30.4%), followed with double digit losses by Germany (-22.1%), Italy (-15.0%, with 17,327 vehicles sold, over 3 thousand less than in November 2020) and France (-12.2%).

With the exception of Buses & Coaches (+1.6%), sales went down in all other sectors: LCV -16.6%; Truck -6.0%; Heavy Truck -3.5%.

Eleven months into the year, commercial vehicle registrations in the EU increased by 11.5%, with 1,723,817 units overall. From January to November, Italy posted the best performance amongst the major markets (+17.6%, with 191,306 registrations, about 28.5 thousand over the same period last year), followed by France (+9.4%), Germany (+1.3%) and Spain (+0.6%).
