European passenger car market: +4.9% in November, -0.3% in eleven months

Passenger car registrations marked in November the third consecutive month of growth, increasing by 4.9%, with 1,175,959 units sold in the EU. With the only exception of the UK (-1.3%), all main national markets expanded: Germany +9.7%, Spain +2.3%, Italy +2.2% (with 150,587 units sold, 3.2 thousand more than in November 2018) and France +0.7%.

From January to November, demand for new passenger cars in Europe remained almost stable compared to last year (-0.3%), with over 14 million registrations (14,123,228). So far, only Germany posted positive numbers (+3.9%), while other big markets slowed down: Spain -5.7%, UK -2.7%, Italy -0.6% (with 1,775,884 registrations overall, nearly 10.3 thousand less compared to the same period last year), France -0.2%.
