European passenger car registrations: -12.0% in November, -25.5% in eleven months

In November, demand for new passenger cars kept contracting (-12.0%), totaling 897,692 units all across Europe. Looking at the biggest markets, France and Spain recorded double digit drops (respectively -27.0% and -18.7%), followed by Italy (-8.3%, with 138,405 vehicles, over 12.5 thousand less than in November 2019) and Germany (-3.0%).

Eleven months into the year, passenger car registrations in the EU declined by 25.5%, reaching 8,911,131 units, over 3 million less than in 2019. From January to November, Spain posted the worse performance (-35.3%), followed by Italy (-29.0%, with 1,261,802 registrations, about 514 thousand less compared to the same period last year), France (-26.9%) and Germany (-21.6%).
