The European passenger car market continues its upward trend, recording a 5.8% increase in October with a total of 916,609 units and marking the fourth consecutive month of growth.
Spain once again leads the rankings with a strong +15.9%, followed by Germany (+7.8%) and France (+2.9%), while Italy shows a slight decline (-0.5%, with 125,961 registrations, just over 600 fewer than in October 2024).
From January to October, registrations rose by 1.4%, totalling 8,974,026 new cars sold across Europe. Among the main markets, Spain is the only one with a positive result (+14.9%), while France (-5.4%) and Italy (-2.6%, with 1,293,967 units, roughly 35,000 fewer than the same period last year) decline. Germany, meanwhile, remains essentially stable at +0.5%.
Looking at powertrain types, hybrids remain the leading choice with a 34.6% market share, followed by petrol (27.4%), full electric (16.4%), diesel (9.2%) and plug-in hybrids (9.1%).
