New commercial vehicle registrations in EU: +18.6% in June, +12.9% in the first six months

With 197,203 units sold, in June 2015 new commercial vehicle registrations increased by 18.6%, marking the sixth consecutive month of growth. Looking at the main national markets, Spain showed the best result (+49.7%) followed by UK (+18.5%), France (+12.9%), Italy (+12.5%, with 12,595 new registrations, 1,404 more than in June 2014) and Germany (+9.4%).

In June, demand for light commercial vehicles reached +16.3%, totalling 163,738 units and marking the twenty-second consecutive month of growth. Significant results for heavy trucks (+32.7%) and trucks (+31.4%), mainly driven by Spain (respectively +105.0% and +102.2%) thanks to the government incentive program. The overall expansion was confirmed also by bus and coaches (+28.6%).

In the first half of the year, European market increased by 12.9%, with 1,030,140 new commercial vehicles sold, nearly 118 thousand over the same period last year. All main national markets contributed to the growth: Spain (+36.8%), UK (+21.8), Italy (+8.6% - 71,949 registrations), Germany (+4.6%), France (+1.6%).
