The slow but steady growth trend of the European car market continues, with November marking the fifth consecutive month of increase: registrations rose by 2.1%, reaching a total of 887,491 units.
Among the main national markets, Spain once again stands out with a solid +12.9%, followed by Germany at +2.5%. France recorded a slight decline (-0.3%), while Italy remained broadly stable, posting a marginal decrease of just a few units compared to November last year.
Looking at the cumulative figures for the first eleven months of 2025, European car demand is up by 1.4%, with a total of 9,860,092 new registrations. Spain remains the only major market showing strong growth (+14.7%), while Germany reports a modest increase (+0.7%). France (-4.9%) and Italy (-2.4%, with 1,417,045 units, around 35,000 fewer than in the same period of 2024) both remain in negative territory.
In terms of powertrain mix, hybrid vehicles continue to be the preferred choice among European motorists, accounting for 34.6% of the market, well ahead of petrol models (27%). They are followed by full-electric vehicles (16.9%), plug-in hybrids (9.3%) and diesel cars (9.0%).
