The year 2024 closed on a positive note for the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment, which grew by +8.3%, reaching a total of 1,586,688 registrations in Europe. This growth was driven by strong performances in Spain (+13.7%) and Germany (+8.4%), while France (+1.1%) and Italy (+0.9%) followed at a distance. Italy recorded 198,517 units sold, almost 1,800 more than last year.
The truck segment, on the other hand, saw a sharp decline of -6.3% (327,896 registrations), primarily due to a slowdown in the heavy truck category and negative results in Germany (-6.9%) and France (-2.9%). Italy recorded a slight decline (-0.7%), while Spain grew by +12.0%.
The Bus&Coach segment continued its positive trend, rising by +9.2% to a total of 35,579 units. Italy (+26.7%) and Spain (+10.4%) achieved double-digit growth, while France saw a moderate increase of +2.2%, and Germany declined by -2.0%.
Diesel remains the dominant fuel source across all segments: LCV – 84.5%; Truck – 95.1%; Bus&Coach – 63.1%.
