A setback occurred in November for the European car market, which, following a modest recovery in October, returned to losing ground with a -1.9% decline, amounting to a total of 869,816 units.
Among the major markets, France recorded the worst result (-12.7%), followed by Italy (-10.8%, with 124,344 vehicles registered), while Germany remained almost stable (-0.5%) and Spain experienced growth (+6.4%).
Over the eleven months, the demand for new cars remained stable (+0.4%), exceeding 9.7 million units (9,726,049). Among the four key markets, Spain continued to show growth (+5.1%), whereas France declined (-3.7%), and Germany (-0.4%) and Italy (-0.2%, with 1,453,458 registrations) remained stable.
By engine type, hybrid vehicles remained the best-sellers with a 33.2% market share, followed by petrol (30.8%), electric (15.0%), and diesel (10.6%).
